Local business owner Jamie Webster is to take on the Lapland Husky Trail in aid of Mountbatten Isle of Wight, a charity very close to his heart.

Launched by Mountbatten just weeks ago, the opportunity will see Jamie traverse 240km of Swedish terrain with a team of huskies. The mega-journey will finish at Sweden’s famous ice hotel.

Jamie, who owns drain clearing and repair business Renodrain, was quick to put his hand up and commit to taking on the challenge which will see him raise vital funds for a charity that, in his own words, “truly matters”.

Jamie’s challenge takes place in the icy landscape between Kiruna and Gällivare where temperatures reach a lowly -13c.

By signing up to the challenge, Jamie has committed to raising more than £5,700, something he hopes to achieve with the help of the Island community.
